About Us

A Great Place to Learn and Grow

Hilton Primary School is a community focused Independent Public School located in the heart of Hilton, five kilometres from Fremantle. The school officially opened on 11 September 1950.

We aim to enrich the lives of our students by fostering a strong sense of self and encouraging academic, physical and social growth. Our students learn and practise our core expectations of Courtesy, Consideration and Co‑operation across all learning programs.

Our teachers deliver a full and balanced curriculum that encourages supported risk taking and celebrates individual strengths. We recognise that students have diverse needs, and we prioritise explicit, differentiated teaching at every year level. Our highly motivated staff bring a wide range of experience and expertise and are committed to providing high quality learning experiences that enable every child to achieve their full potential.

At Hilton PS, students participate in daily Literacy and Numeracy blocks. Our specialist programs include Science, Music, Visual Arts, Physical Education and AUSLAN (Language Other Than English).

Our school is situated on spacious grounds featuring multiple play areas and authentic, sustainable outdoor classrooms. We are fortunate to have a large native Wild Space in the south‑east corner of the school, which supports hands on learning and environmental stewardship. Our Grounds Committee made up of staff and parents/carers continually designs and develops these outdoor learning environments. We also value our purpose‑built Music, Art and Science rooms.

Hilton Primary School is strengthened by a supportive and engaged community. Our Parents and Citizens Association funds additional resources and coordinates well‑loved community events such as the Welcome Picnic, Easter Raffle and Makuru Winter Solstice celebration. The Hilton Primary School Board provides governance and supports the Principal in strategic decision‑making.
