Hilton Primary School has a specialist teacher of Music and Choir, Mrs Annique Buckland. The students participate in a diverse array of musical and drama experiences as performers and audience members. The Music lessons are taught from Years 1 to Year 6 and engage students in singing, playing, listening and movement activities.
The skills and expertise developed are on public display at special events (eg. NAIDOC week, Awards Evening) as well as at whole school assemblies, presented by each class over the course of the year. The Year 4-6 Choir rehearse weekly. They have performed at a number of events including ANZAC Day, the Melville Sing Fest, Book Week Assembly and Christmas Carols in the local community. The Hilton Choir is also featured at our Christmas Concert, annual Awards Ceremony and Graduation Ceremony. Our students have also participated in the Fremantle Festival.
As a result of our 10 week EduDance program (usually in Term 1) our Pre-Primary to Year 6 Edudance Concert is a hugely anticipated event at our school.
Visual and performing arts are highly valued at Hilton Primary as we encourage all students to develop and express their creativity.
