During 2024, Hilton PS teachers were upskilled in Top Ten Maths, an Australian, evidence-based approach to teaching and learning Mathematics, which we are implementing from Kindy to Year 6. Top Ten supports teachers to demonstrate mathematical activities daily. Students use manipulative materials daily, to experience mathematical concepts, before they represent the Maths concepts with symbols and move towards algorithms.
We continue to use technology, manipulative materials and the outside environment to enhance mathematical teaching and learning.
