It was wonderful to see everyone at our 2021 Welcome Picnic on Friday 5th March, surrounded by our beautiful trees, enjoying socialising with friends old and new, as well as the delicious ice-creams and icy poles and fun sponge throw activity organised by our awesome Year 6’s. It’s great to see them so actively involved in fundraising for their end of year camp, well done!
A special thanks to our fabulous P&C volunteers who helped set up, pack away and serve about 250 sausages!!
The P&C hold the Welcome Picnic each year to welcome new families into our school community, and to welcome back existing families. On Friday we also had the opportunity to introduce the Class Representatives for 2021. And some of the students even showed us their musical abilities!
Throughout the year the P&C organise fun events like the Welcome Picnic, the disco, quiz night, cake stalls, sausage sizzles and we also help out with Busy Bees that help develop our beautiful grounds and nature play areas, amongst other things. This year we have plans to fund more literacy and numeracy resources, a new nature play area in the upper school and run more activities throughout the year including a night for the adults to socialise and have fun, and of course the ever popular Disco for the kids.
As you may know we’ve had a few changes in the P&C for 2021 following our AGM. Firstly, I’d like to say a huge thank you to Cath Fitzhardinge who did a fantastic job as President last year, luckily for us she will continue to be involved as Vice President this year, along with Kaya Clifford as Secretary and we welcome Naomi McKenzie as Treasurer. Anton McKay, Kirsty Ball and Leila Reay have all volunteered to be Executive Members. We are all looking forward to another great year at Hilton PS. And we are always looking for volunteers to help as out with our activities.
