Another Yarning Circle Update

Our Yarning circle has progressed so far this week!

The limestone blocks were reset last weekend into beautiful undulating curves, ready for a sit and a yarn.

Thanks to all our wonderful volunteers who helped to plant the amazing grass trees, lay the crushed limestone & spread lots and LOTS of mulch!!!

Every class helped with the mulching and “wakkapakka-ing”, aka stomping the crushed limestone!!! Each class has been allocated a grass tree to care for (they need lots of water in the early stages!)

The final stage of the project will be the original 6 seasons poles, which will be re-painted over the next few months and re-installed. We’ll bring you more updates when that happens.

We hope everyone has the opportunity enjoy this newly rejuvenated space, please make sure kids are supervised and take extra special care around our new grass trees!! The orange barriers will stay up for a little while to give them some protection. Let’s give them the best chance possible to survive and thrive in their new Whadjuk Noongar Boodjar.
